There was a two part episode on the first Star Trek series called the Menagerie/The Cage. The Telosians captured Captain Pike seeking to have him breed with their captive Veria. At the conclusion of the episode the Telosians learned that Humans would choose death over slavery as they-humans totally rejected tyranny and would be extremally violent in the response in rejecting tyrannical slavery even when benevolent, it's encoded in our DNA. Islamists in Nigeria attacked a local church with the Government claiming it was a robbery. Five people have been killed with many more kidnapped by the attackers. Government set military and police to the town but locked it down because locals were protesting the Government's response.
